OT: Who names all these hurricanes?

you guys should see the fucked up stuff that is going on around here.... it was rumored florida was going to give out of gas yesterday so the gas stations were so full you had to wait in a line about 6 or 7 cars long, and since everyone was rushing out to get it some stations did run out

You wanna hear something really stupid? Houston Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, a black woman, actually got offended and made a big stink last year because there were no "black names" given to hurricanes, that they all had "lilly white" names. [img]eek.gif[/img] WHAT!?

Isn't that RACISM on her part to assume a black person can't be named Charlie, or Frances or Ivan or Matthew? What, if it doesn't sound "tribal" it can't be a "black name"???

Can't you just see her being equally pissed if a hurricane was named Deshawn or Latoya and ended up being the most destructive hurricane in the history of the country.... can't you see her then protesting the "negative association" of a "black name" with such destruction and devestation?
